I joined the team as an Entry-Level Game Designer after graduated, it was a small team consisted of 4 members – 1 CEO, 1 Programmer, 1 Artist and me. Since the game was a social casino based on an existing ruleset of Killer 13 (the card game), what I did in the project was to:
– Reorganize the project with document, come up with naming conventions for every asset in the game and make sure everything was easy to access for all departments.
– Balance the game economy & currency flow.
– Collaborate with Programmer and Artist so they would understand the final vision of the game.
– Differentiate our game from other social casino on mobile market.
– Create an update roadmap for up-coming features post-release.
– Interact with players and maintain their satisfaction.
Pig Hunters was released somewhere at the end of 2018 and catered for Vietnamese market, it struck out with a light-hearted theme and funny characters, ability to message and connect to the player on a deeper level compared to other competitors. The game allowed them to make friends and invite friends to play effortlessly, while also let them customize their characters with various type of cosmetics, which brought the sense of personal identity on social platform.
With the sudden hit of COVID, online gathering became more and more crucial, which led to the massive success of Pig Hunters, now at 1M+ downloads on both Android & iOS.
